Healthy eating. To most people that phrase is like cuss words right? WRONG. Healthy eating is not only fun but it can improve so many aspects of your life with little effort on your part. Imagine a life of energy without the coffee jitters and the crash just before lunch. Imagine laughter around the dinner table as everyone talks about the day they had at school and/or work. Imagine smiles and hugs from spending more time together creating something everyone can share. Imagine taking pride in something and actually getting a reward from it. All this can be yours.
Healthy eating is not about cutting out flavor or eating like a rabbit. It is about experimenting with flavor, texture, and colors to create an experience you can enjoy. Balance is key to healthy eating. Rounding out your food lifestyle can in turn round out all other aspects of your life. Creating traditions that can be carried on and teaching our families to express themselves with healthy natural foods.
One small change every few weeks can yield wondrous results. Some examples of these changes are:
• Limiting processed sugars to once a day
• Replacing soda with water
• Adding organic and whole foods to your meal plans
• Portion control (every meal isn’t your last)
• Replacing fatty snacks with fruits and veggies
Just by doing one of these things will show results in just one week with energy and a sense of balance. If you want desert go for it just remember not to over indulge and keep moderation in mind.
